How are we all celebrating Albert Belle's birthday? I was planning on throwing Superballs at kids.

...at the Kia Oval.

Naming rights don't usually bother me but that looks so wrong. It's still Lords, Eden Gardens and the MCG, right?

I think so, and the SCG, Gabba, Adelaide Oval and WACA in Australia. Most of the football (all codes) grounds have sponsors names, but we are blessed with the ABC, a public broadcaster, which refuses to use the sponsors labels in the match calls and other reporting, and sticks by the traditional names.

On the one hand, I hate the public shaming culture/stockades... but on the other hand, fuck Schilling.

Although I still revere him for 2004, that doesn't conflict withat thinking he's also a putz.

Does anyone hold the naming rights to the Basin Reserve?

I don't think so, like the SCG, it has heritage listing.

Kind of interesting that Schilling, who turned the Twitter/internet brigade on those who said some reprehensible things about his daughter, is now facing the same type of backlash he encouraged not too long ago.
