Jose Bautista calls out Colin Cowherd for insipid remarks about Dominican ballplayers: One of baseball’s most vocal sluggers is not happy with Colin Cowherd for the radio host’s negative portrayal of Dominican players, and the MLB Players Association is reportedly equally upset.
Saved you a click version:
“It’s too complex? I’ve never bought into that 'baseball is too complex.' Really? A third of the sport is from the Dominican Republic. The Dominican Republic has not been known in my lifetime as having world class academic abilities."
Jeff Passan's Twitter feed is especially good right now.

Cowherd picked the worst possible time for this Archie Bunker moment. He's been dropped early by ESPN and has yet to sign the deal with Fox Sports, as far as I can determine.
Funny quote in hindsight: A Washington Post report yesterday had Cowherd declaring that his bosses at ESPN "are friends for life."

Loved Cowherd's insinuation the percentage of players with college degrees in baseball being lower than the NFL/ NBA is meaningful. Let's see, a sport that drafts out of high school versus two that don't. Can't find a transcript but I'm sure Captain Evidence included the NHL in his comparison later to make things fair, right? No? Wonder why not.
