Holy moly. Stonie owns Coney. Perennial hot dog eating champ Joey Chestnut has been dethroned by Matt Stonie in a stunning turn of events that is apparently not a complete "upset".

Both the new and former champ are from San Jose, which can now be considered both a gastromonic and tectonic epicenter.

The new champ was not totally surprised by the outcome. "I trained hard for this." Stonie told ESPN.

After his victory last year, he dropped to one knee and proposed to his longtime girlfriend. They have since broken up.
That's cold, ESPN. Cold.

Also, Sonya "Black Widow" Thomas has lost the last two on the distaff side. The old guard is on its way out.
