Dallas Cowboys Sign Undrafted Top Draft Prospect La'el Collins: The Dallas Cowboys have signed undrafted free agent La'el Collins, an LSU offensive lineman expected to be a top-15 pick in this year's draft until a story broke that Baton Rouge, Louisiana, police wanted to question him about the April 24 shooting death of his ex-girlfriend and the baby she was carrying, who died on May 1. Police have not called Collins a person of interest or a suspect. The baby's paternity was tested and Collins was not the father. "His situation ended up being a lot clearer this week than it was last week," Bryan Broaddus of DallasCowboys.com told Gannett Louisiana.
I don't think you can really say because the Pats have the Aaron Hernandez thing directly in the rear view so if they did this the #hottake brigade would explode. That said, I can't believe the Cowboys have signed an almost-convicted murderer whose worst crime is that he won't man up and admit he murdered this girl, Sharon Tate, NBC's Thursday night hegemony and stole the Lindbergh baby.

A question for the Patriots fans here who seem troubled by the Deflategate report: Would you trade your team's PR problems for mine?
If Collins is completely uninvolved in the murder, which so far seems the most likely outcome, then this is a massive draft day steal.
But having to use the phrase "if he didn't kill a woman" is not something you want to say about your team's newest acquisition, especially when the Greg Hardy signing is already a black eye.
