Did any one see this?: This AP story is probably one of the most retarded things I have ever read. What exactly is being said, that these things happen because the players are employed by the Laker Organization? That the Lakers attract such occurances? Is it because the Lakers are in a bigger market? Or could it possibly be (most likely), just players being who they are regardless of their affiliations?
Nice quote from "The Silk-Man" though...

Waste of ink. The Blazers have racked up that many run ins with the law this year. Because the Lakers are a marquee franchise their stars have more celebrity. One result is that when something happens there is a lot more press therefore making the event more memorable. Same as in the NFL, everyone remembers Michael Irvin getting in trouble for doing coke with a stripper but few people remember Pittburgh running back Bam Morris getting caught with 250 lbs of weed. I think we can all agree this has no basis in fact.

Just to clarify, when I said this has no basis in fact I meant that the Lakers are no worse than any other NBA franchise. If Bock is going to assert that there is a dark side to the Lakers than I'd like to see some sort of comparison with other NBA teams.

Everybody loves to hate the Lakers. This guy is just hopping on the sidecar attached to the bandwagon. (Damn, me and Yogi Berra could write a book.)

The Lakers are now officially the Post Office of the NBA. That's all I got. I've been drinking. Good night everybody. Tip your waitresses.

You could pick nearly any organization in any sport and come up with a list like this. Complete waste of ink. Not only that, but reporters have picked nearly every organization and come up with a similar list, so I wouldn't get too hung up on this particular one. It isn't as if the Lakers organization doesn't have enough worries at this time.

Yep, I actually get this paper (although the article is an AP feed) and when I saw this I thought, man, you can sure tell when it's Tuesday. You could pick nearly any organization in any sport and come up with a list like this. Complete waste of ink.
