I just saw that live. I didn't think there was any chance it gets caught, and Zimmermann didn't think so either when it left the bat. Great play.

Here's some video, also with a gif of Zimmermann's heartbreak followed by jubilation, which is just outstanding. I would also like to correct my earlier comment that while it was the Nationals' first no-hitter, the Expos had a few, so it was not the first for the franchise.

Toronto (3.5 games ahead of NY)
Kansas City (0.5 games ahead of Detroit)
Oakland (4.5 games ahead of LA)
Atlanta (tied with Washington)
Milwaukee (3.5 games ahead of St. Louis)
San Francisco (5.5 games ahead of LA)
None of them finished the season as division champs.
*for about 20 minutes, between the end of the KC game and the end of the Washington game.

Jordan Zimmermann just pitched the franchise's first no-no to close out the Nationals' regular season. Rookie Steven Souza Jr. made a hell of a catch in LF for out #27 to rob Christian Yelich of extra bases.
