Robert Griffin III is out for at least a few weeks, but if he needs surgery may be done for the year.

If Kirk Cousins plays as well as he did in relief, it's going to put the Redskins in a real pickle - you don't want your franchise QB to lose his job due to injury, but if he is susceptible to the big injury and he's ineffective for long periods as he works his way back to health, maybe the Redskins will be better off with a steadier hand who can stay on the field.

Two interesting pieces from Game Theory: the Atlanta Hawks and race relations, testing for chuckers in cricket.

341,960.

Two things about that article.

First:

"I've never seen him in a slump that lasted very long, because he is able to get back to that swing." said Joe Maddon, the manager of the Tampa Bay Rays.

He hasn't been watching lately, I guess. Jeter is 1-for-28 right now, and has batted .182/.215/.227 since August 1st.

Second:

All. Those. Stats.

Works for me, a non-subscriber, but I get a "3 articles per month free" pop-up.

Here's a cool family memento shared by a guy whose great-uncle was offered an NFL tryout in the 1940s:

That's pretty cool. A friend of mine play college ball at Yale and has since collected a rather sizable collection of rejection letters from NFL teams. Don't know if the New York Football Giants are among them. I should ask.

Weird. I tried it in Incognito Mode in Chrome and it worked fine for me with no popup. I also have a lot of blocking turned on via Ghostery and AdBlock, so it might be that.
