What really happened to Ted Williams?: The COO of Alcor resigned after telling Sports Illustrated that Ted Williams' body has been damaged. Williams' head has been separated from his body, shaved and drilled with holes, and was accidentally cracked as many as 10 times due to fluctuating storage temperatures. A companion article provides background on the increasingly bizarre chain of events, including nonpayment of bills and John Henry Williams' baseball aspirations.

This story makes my stomach turn. John Henry Williams is a notorious greedy bastard. No one who has ever dealt with him has walked away with a positive experience with JHW. As the stories go, John Henry was having his father sign bats and balls until he couldn't do so any longer, simply to sell them on the internet. He will end up suing Alcor for cracking his father's skull. This lawsuit will end up negating the balance of $111k he owes. I'd put money on this. Given John Henry Williams' character, I can't help but feel that he's probably extracted DNA from his father's remains in some cockamamy scheme to create an army of clones.

Well, if they can bring you back from the dead in the future, they can probably fix a few skull cracks. But I bet you're right, JG.

"....head has been separated from his body, shaved and drilled with holes, and was accidentally cracked as many as 10 times due to fluctuating storage temperatures...." 'Thanks for tuning into the Anatomy Channel. We'll be right back after this message from our sponsor.' JHW is just a sad excuse for a son.

A co-worker of mine went to the HOF induction of Gary Carter and Eddie Murray last month and said that Williams' son is maintaining Teddy's "Hitters Hall of Fame" in Florida and was hawking merch at the booth. The kid seems like a lazy bastard that wants to cash in as much as possible on his father's name, which is a fucking shame.

"I can't help but feel that he's probably extracted DNA from his father's remains" According to an article on ESPN.com yesterday DNA was already missing. But I doubt it was JHW. More than likely someone from Alcor trying to make a buck. There is an article today which says that Alcor is denying that DNA is missing. This whole affair is just sad. Poor Teddy Ballgame.

According to an article on ESPN.com yesterday DNA was already missing. Like someone stole a labeled test tube or like Teddy Ballgame wasn't storing a full tank when they checked him in?

It keeps getting better. Now there's a criminal investigation into whether the infamous oil-stained note was forged.
