The Rays cut 3,000 seats at the Trop, mostly to make a walkway that circles the field. It will make it easier for fans to go to one of the strangest things any park offers: the ray tank.
I've been out there a few times and made a pilgrimage to the tank, where I got splashed. In hindsight, smelling like a ray tank for a nine-inning game is not ideal.

I mentioned in Saturday's huddle that Palace's win might be good news for Ipswich, as they might leave Jonny Williams on loan with us having put another three points in the bank.
Today, Palace have allowed Ipswich to extend the loan through the end of the season.
Good news for us, as Williams has looked another class in the Championship. This loan is turning into one of those rare moves that's good for the loaning club, the owning club and the player.

Ian Darke calls a blind date.
I feel the concept was stronger than the execution there. This may be the only place where I'd rather have Ray Hudson in the seat than Darke.

Ian Darke calls a blind date.
For me, it would have to be Darrell Eastlake.

Meanwhile the Rockies cut a bunch of seats (I can't seem to find how many) to put in a rooftop bar (AKA the Party Deck or Poop Deck depending on who you're talking to). There's been some criticism regarding the Monfort's spending priorities and focus on booze, there's already a microbrewery in the stadium. Personally, I think it looks great but I assume it's going to be hell getting in there for awhile. I'd really like it if they opened her up when the Rockies are out of town. Having a beer overlooking the empty stadium just after the sun drops over the mountains and sets their rims aglow... well, that sounds mighty nice.

Having been to a game at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, I'm a fan of bars and bar areas at baseball games. I actually think it's a format that works really well in baseball, since, brutally honestly, there are large stretches of the game where not much happens (the back third of the roster coming up to bat being a good example), thus giving you opportunities to go to the bar and have a few while still watching the game on TVs.
I don't know that it would work well in other sports venues, though (although Buccaneer Cove at Ray-J would seem to be an exception, I'd argue it's only an outlier).
