I just saw the trailer for the upcoming movie Draft Day for the first time.

As is the case with search and radar information being provided by the Malaysian armed forces, I can't tell if this film is supposed to give Browns fans a sense of hope or is simply a cruel fantasy being spun at their expense.

I think it is supposed to be cruel fantasy, now that the sting of Major League has finally dissipated a bit. It is time to re-open the freshly scabbed over wound that is hope for success in Cleveland sports. In 2024, look for a basketball fantasy along the lines of The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh wherein the Cavs hoist the trophy with a bunch of ragtag misfits brought together with a consensus #1 pick that plays to his potential in the playoffs.

Or maybe it's just a fun revisionist history a la Tarantino's last few.

Dang, I spoke too soon. Here cometh Cleveland in real life.

In one day, ESPN demoted Brent Musburger and announced that Rick Reilly was going to stop writing his column.

That's a heck of a decent day's work in and of itself, but hoping for the unimaginable, I hung in waiting for any news on Kiper.

Eric Decker goes from being Peyton Manning's number 3 receiver to Geno Smith's number 1. Wonder how that will work out for him?

Wonder how that will work out for him?

Probably not as good as it will for his TV show, though.

I figured Decker, being a glamour boy, and his model girlfriend, were seeing the Big Apple as more than a place to play football.

Decker was telling one of the local guys here that the Jet's offer was far and away the most money he was being offered. The other offers being in the 5 million per year range. The Broncos didn't even make an offer according to him.

Broncos will easily fill Decker's role and have a few million per year to devote to areas of true weakness.
