Was grum in the crowd at today's Winter Classic?
No, I couldn't go to the game.
I've got a 7-month-old daughter that provides a lot more entertainment and happiness than a Maple Leafs game. We both watched it on our HDTV while wrapped in a blanket on the couch.

We both had a nap during the first period.

If When the Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup, she'll go with me to the victory parade.

The provincial rest stops on the highway between Toronto/Detroit had "Sea of Blue" stations set up. They were handing out free car flags, and had mobile stores to purchase Maple Leaf paraphernalia. As I already own a 1988 Maple Leafs jersey and a 2001 Maple Leafs jersey, I didn't pick anything up.

It got less WTFish towards the end, at least. I like the Winter Classic as a spectacle, but as a game of ice hockey, it's generally a bit of a shitshow. It also reminded me of how I'll be glad to see the wide rink back in Sochi.
