UW Snaps Up Boise's Petersen: After Boise State wunderkind coach Chris Petersen allegedly turned down the USC job, the Trojans turned to Washington's Steve Sarkisian. UW responded by taking Petersen after what is described as a short negotiation.
Agreed about the location as well as fans' reaction, Mothball. It's a shame, however, that USC took Sarkisian instead of promoting Orgeron, which opened the Washington job.

I predict that Petersen will be successful at UW. He may wind up dominating a few programs in the conference, such as OSU and WSU. He needs to set his conference schedule accordingly. It should always be Beavers first, then Wazzu. Never the other way around.

The Apple Cup is always the final game of the regular season for UW and WSU. That should make it easy to keep scheduled.
Agree with jjzucal about Orgeron. I've never really been sold on Sark though. Guess I'll find out in a few years if I'm an idiot or actually perceptive for once.

I did not see that one coming. It makes sense I guess. He likes the Northwest and Washington is a much more forgiving school than USC. I think the Huskies made a good hire.
