RG3 Tries to Draw Flags on Runs to Sideline: Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III drew two penalties in Sunday's game against Dallas when he was hit as he went out of bounds. "Guys don't want to pull up," said Griffin, who slowed up exiting the field of play and twice got flags against safety Barry Church. Griffin said the stratagem failed against Detroit defensive back Rashean Mathis. "I kind of stopped well inside in bounds to try to get him to hit me and he didn't. He said, 'I'm not taking that penalty, Griff.'"
pro sports have always been about getting away with something or having a system or scheme that takes advantage of some aspect of the game....
that said, don't go advertising it!

Of course guys don't want to slow up ... one step the other way at the sideline and he goes for 20 yards.

I wouldn't wish injury on Griffin, but it would serve him right for engaging in that scam. I thought the fouls against Dallas were pretty cheap, particularly the second. Church agrees.
The league enacts special rules to keep quarterbacks on the field and Griffin admits that he's exploiting them -- and increasing his own risk of injury -- to gain a minor advantage in play. That's a stupid thing to do, and an even stupider thing to admit doing.
Good luck getting the borderline late hit calls from refs now, RG3.
