Jack Clark, co-host fired from radio gig after Albert Pujols-PED flap: Former major-league slugger Jack Clark recently used his talk-radio forum to level a pretty serious accusation at Angels first baseman Albert Pujols -- namely that he, at least at one time, used performance-enhancing drugs.
When Clark was with the Red Sox (one of Lou Gorman's cherry picks from the talent pile, along with Danny Darwin), he would give a kid in the clubhouse a 100 dollar bill to go across the street and buy him a hamburger.

and the threat of legal action that followed that cost Clark and his co-host their jobs
Um, yeah. The best way for the parent company and radio station to preserve the claim that they did not condone Clark's words is to send his ass as far away from them as possible. I'm sure the station aired a disclaimer that on-air opinions are not necessarily the opinion of the station or the parent, but when an on-air personality flagrantly defames someone, it is best to add a second layer of insulation.
You wouldn't expect something so impetuous and ill-considered from a guy who went bankrupt buying race cars.
Nicely said.

Jack Clark: 340 home runs, .267 batting average in 18 seasons.
Albert Pujols: 493 home runs, .321 batting average in 13 seasons.
Maybe Jack Clark was jealous?
