Dying Browns Fan's Last Request: The obituary of Mansfield, Ohio, resident Scott Entsminger, who died on July 4 at age 55, contains this passage about his favorite NFL team: "A lifelong Cleveland Browns fan and season ticket holder, he also wrote a song each year and sent it to the Cleveland Browns as well as offering other advice on how to run the team. He respectfully requests six Cleveland Browns pall bearers so the Browns can let him down one last time."
This is fabulous. I know and/or am related to many Browns fans (In fact, I was one myself until they split and the Titans subsequently moved to my hometown.), and this describes all of them--many of whom (lovingly, I guess) refer to the team as the factory of sadness. The second section of this piece on Grantland does a pretty succinct job of putting being a 'Browns fan' into perspective.
