NBA Ref Won't Let Amir Johnson Rub the Ball: Amir Johnson of the Toronto Raptors was ejected last night after tussling with a ref who wouldn't let him rub the basketball after a free throw. Johnson was tossed by referee David Jones and was being restrained when he threw his mouthpiece at Jones, hitting him in the back. "Every free throw I always go and rub the ball and give it right back to the ref," Johnson said. "I guess the ref didn't let me have the ball, so we kind of got into a tug-of-war. No words were said and he ejected me out of the game. I kind of lost my cool from there."

I would also look to be ejected/suspended if I was part of the team. I'd find any reason to not be on the court and visible while the team is currently playing the way it is.

Raptors are on their way to another lottery pick ... which they will use to select another unproven set shooting eurpoean who doesn't rebound and can't play defense.
Or possibly they'll trade that pick and cash for the rights to re-acquire Turkodoodoo.

Only if the pick is in the top 3, otherwise Oklahoma City gets the Raptors 1st round selection this year. But Toronto does have Kyle Lowry!

Are refs ever punished for shit like this? Amir's rightfully going to get suspended for hitting him with the mouthguard. The official should be suspended or fined for what has to be the worst toss of the year. What a child.

I guess there are advantages to not being a professional basketball player. I'm allowed to rub balls all day long!
