Johnny Football is now Johnny Heisman: Johnny Manziel becoms the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy.
Well, he's also a quarterback, which I think has more to do with it. Defensive players have an uphill climb when it comes to the Heisman. I believe Manziel also got bonus points for going into Alabama and pretty much beating them single-handedly.
Congrats to Manziel, though. Seems like a good guy, and I'll be curious to see how he does next year.

Going back through the past 20 years of Heisman winners, it's interesting to me how many were not able to find success in the NFL.

Hmmm ... didn't watch all of the games this year, but Te'o was head and shoulders the best player on the field every game I saw him in. Manziel was both great and ordinary, losing 2 at home.
Oh, but Manziel plays in the SEC ... I get it.
