Yankees Blow Up Jim Johnson, Win Game 1 Over O's: The New York Yankees scored five runs in the ninth to break open a 2-2 game over the Baltimore Orioles, taking a 1-0 lead in their American League Division Series. Orioles closer Jim Johnson hadn't given up a run since Sept. 8, but four scored on a Russell Martin home run and run-scoring hits from Ichiro Suzuki and Robinson Cano.

Not a good sign for the O's. Thanks to the weird 2-3 format they have one last home game in the series.

This is all my fault; I picked the O's and the A's to win their series in the Pick 'Em, so naturally both lost their last games in the 9th inning.

Orioles returned to form last night with their typical one run win. These teams have played 20 games now this season and are dead even. I'll be surprised if this doesn't go 5 games. Orioles have won every regular season series they played in NY, so I don't think home field is that big an advantage for Yankees. Should be a fun, nerve wracking, series to watch!

I like the O's close-game advantage to triumph over the Yankees' home-field edge. They are amassing an astonishing record of winning close- and extra-inning games.

I do get nostalgic seeing the Orioles uniforms on the field this late in the year among the colors of fall.

I wanted the 1979 World Series to last all the way to Halloween.

As an Oriole fan, I liked the ending of the 1983 World Series a lot more!
