Yankees Stay Atop East with Extra Inning Comeback: Down by four runs in the bottom half of the 13th inning, the New York Yankees rallied to tie the Oakland A's, then won the game 10-9 an inning later when A's first baseman Brandon Moss booted an Eduardo Nunez ground ball with the bases loaded. The Yankees remain one game up on the Baltimore Orioles. The A's are three games ahead of the Los Angeles Angels for the last wild card spot.
It's sort of outrageous/insane that the Yankees are +105, the Os are -5, and yet the Os are only one game back.

What do you base that "doesn't matter" statement on, slackerman? I say it doesn't matter for the Nats, Reds, and Giants because at least two of them won't make the World Series.

Doesn't matter, the Nats, Reds, or Giants are all better than the Yanks this season.
For that matter, I consider this more an A's bullpen meltdown than an excellent Yankees performance/comeback.
This from a big Giants fan who feels they are _better_ than they were in 2010 and peaking at the right time.
IMHO, of course. :-)
