Serena Williams put on an absolute clinic today against Maria Sharapova...what a wrecking ball she is right now.

It was like Sharapova was surprised she had to play a tennis match a day early.

"Wait. We're playing? For real? Now?"

Serena's little dance number to celebrate was great. You probably won't see anything that enthusiastic from Federer if he wins. Murray, however, will probably explode if he wins.

Given neither Federer nor Murray are from Compton, the Crip Walk seems unlikely. Hopefully Serena and Venus can do it later today when they have a doubles match. No wonder Serena played like she was double-parked.

So the British Women's Team Pursuit cycling team just set world records in six consecutive races, almost riding down the American team in the final.

Okay, that elimination race in cycling is awesome. That should be a prime-time event, and I'd watch it every weekend.

Okay, that elimination race in cycling is awesome.

It's a classic track format. The federation decided this time round to drop the madison (which is bonkers, and named after the old Madison Square Garden velodrome) to allow more women's races, and put all the purists' formats in the omnium. So you had the points race, which can't be done justice on TV, but also the elimination race, which is really simple to follow. The scratch race tomorrow will be worth it, too.

Guatemala just won its First. Medal. Ever. While posting the second-fastest Olympic 20k racewalk time in history; unfortunately, 11 seconds after the actual-fastest Olympic 20k racewalk time in history. But still, good job, Erick Barrondo.
