Pitcher caught throwing spitball...by opposing pitcher's wife?:
Dallas Latos (wife of Red's pitcher Matt Latos) may have outed Jose Valverde as a spitball pitcher.
I've wondered...what is the justification allowing for a pitcher to lick their fingers and pitch rather than spit on the ball directly?
Technically, they can't lick their fingers and handle the ball directly. They are supposed to wipe off their fingers on their jersey before touching the ball.
