How The Kings Toughened Up And Conquered The NHL

A good look (through the Red Sox' eyes) at why this year's MLB draft is completely different. It's strange to see teams intentionally drafting guys higher than they're projected so they can make a run at a (better?) player in a later round.

"In my strong opinion Barack Obama does not hold a single core value or belief consistent with the principles that created this amazing country we call the United States of America," Rocker told WorldNetDaily.

I have set up a Euro 2012 fantasy league for those interested in participating; see this locker room thread for details.

From Justgary's link:

But Air Jordan wasn't in the same league as a house cat when it comes to leaping.

I would totally watch cat basketball.

Both you and the author are aware that they don't have thumbs, right?

That didn't stop Air Bud.

Thumbs don't matter to cats. They will have their owners servants pick up whatever the cat needs picked up. Being a cat servant is a bit like being the point guard for someone who demands alley-oop after alley-oop.

Map of current MLB player birthplaces. Be sure to check out the Dominican Republic. Santa Domingo alone has 27 players.

Pterodactyl Cats! Oh, wait, polydactyl. And cats can't shoot jumpers? Disappointing day.

You just know that the ESPN Deportes office collects these up for the end-of-year comedy reel. And sighs and sighs and sighs.

Holy shit, the cat in that picture looks exactly like one of mine, but after some sort of nightmare genetic mutation.

And I think you're all missing the point of my previous post. I was simply pointing out to tron that the cats' lack of thumbs would make the crossover dribble impossible, making the cat basketball that he so foolishly promoted an inferior game to today's NBA. Sheesh.

Not to mention that the cat will be called for a travel every time it attempts a jump-stop on a polished hardwood floor. Nothing is funnier than watching kitty attempting to stop just before piling into the kitchen table leg.

Wouldn't their shoes stop them from slip-sliding around, Howard?

No thumbs. They can't tie the laces. Also, put shoe laces near a cat, and it's instant game time. When my cats were younger, I would trip over one or another of them nearly daily as they jumped from hiding to attack those nasty snakes on my shoe. I don't think cats have mastered Velcro either.

posted by Howard_T at 09:43 PM on June 06, 2012

These are professional, highly paid kitties. They would have someone to tie their shoes for them, no?

posted by tommybiden at 10:30 PM on June 06, 2012

They don't wear shoes. You people just don't get it.
