Maybe Josh Beckett should stick to golf.

A girl wins the baseball championship for her high school boys baseball team, without even having to step on the field.

Boy, that's sad. They denied that girl and the boys on both teams an opportunity to compete in the championship because their God doesn't support co-ed youth sports.

  • "Boy, that doesn't sound like a normal Catholic school policy to me."
  • Our Lady of Sorrows is run by the U.S. branch of the Society of Saint Pius X. The group represents conservative, traditional priests who broke from the Catholic Church in the 1980s.
  • "Oh. Lovely name for a school too."

Extortion plan works again: The lease at the old place up, the Viking (finally) get new stadium deal, and Minnesota tax payers help pay. Vikings put up $477,000,000, State of Minnesota taxpayers put up $348,000,000, and the city of Minneapolis gets double-dipped chipping in an additional $150,000,000. Vikings staying in Minnesota? Apparently, priceless.

An explanation of what's at stake on "Survival Sunday" (FOX Soccer Channel's marketing term) in the Premiere League for many teams.

Speaking of "Survival Sunday" I hope my fellow Reds who are also Comcast subscribers haven't gotten their hopes up on seeing the game with Swansea--Comcast do not carry Fuel TV and so will not have our game! Boo!!!!

I love that they used Police Academy for the music of that Carlsberg ad.

Though I'm still amused that drinking alcohol is promoted through sport.

Yes, because if you're a 5 pint a day man, a starting position on the England squad COULD BE YOURS!

Number of grand slam home runs hit by Detroit Tigers batters in 2012 >= the number of fucks MeatSaber gives about Inge's stats post-Tigers. No offense to you, though, grum. I'm happy for him, and hope he succeeds in Oakland...but his stats since the 2009 all-star break are horrendous. I won't look back at his release as a mistake...
