'Where's Your Green Card?' Chanted at NCAA Tourney: Members of the Southern Miss band chanted "where's your green card?" while Kansas State point guard Angel Rodriguez shot free throws during a second-round NCAA basketball tournament game Thursday. Rodriguez, a native of Puerto Rico, had 13 points and 3 assists in his team's 70-64 victory.

What kind of schoolin' are those kids getting if they don't know that Puerto Rico is part of the USA?

Worse, they passed Geography 101.

Their rapier wits must have been a comfort on the bus ride home. Did anyone see that game? I was more listening to it than watching it, but McGruder had himself a heck of a game.

I will refrain from commenting.
(Honestly, the bulk of Americans divide their country's resident population into "Americans" and "illegal immigrants", and that's not including the various island entities that aren't states. Though I doubt they'd be chanting that at Tim Duncan.)

Oh god that's funny. Not that they're bigots, but that they're morons. Joke's on you!
Ah, they probably thought Rodriguez is Mexican. Not a worldly people I guess.

I resent that. Within five miles of my house alone, I have a Chevy's, an Olive Garden, a P.F. Chang's, and an "Irish" Pub with 27 big screen t.v.'s on the wall (and sometimes, one of them has a soccer game on).

Stupid chant by a handful of students.
That being said, I'd bet a majority of Americans wouldn't know that PR has full US citizen rights.

Like my dad always used to say, "Son, the only thing worse than a racist is a Peurto Rican".

My favorite used to be "the only people I can't stand in this world are racists... And the Chinese." But then Micheal Caine said it in Goldmember (substituting Dutch) and ruined it for me.

Those kids are getting a heck of an education and making their state, school and parents proud. Ole Miss, the way to a dimmer future.

It's not Ole Miss. It's an entirely different school that not surprisingly seems to have the same kind of problems.

Congratulations, Southern Miss. Your first visit to the NCAA tournament in 21 years and this is what you'll be known for -- bigots in your band.
