Knicks Continue Slide Since Carmelo Anthony's Return: The New York Knicks lost 106-94 to the Philadelphia 76ers Sunday, their fifth straight loss and seventh in nine games since Carmelo Anthony returned from injury. Anthony scored 22 and Jeremy Lin scored 14, but he was 5-for-18 from the field and had six turnovers. "The furor surrounding why this isn't an elite team in the league has once again reached a fever pitch," writes Matt Moore of ProBasketballTalk.

You predicted regression to the mean?

Fascinating!

You really think this is regression to the mean?

Do you really think that the high or the low is Jeremy Lin's true talent level?

This is about what Knick fans had worried when 'Melo returned. Lin was "the man" while 'Melo was out; now he has to take a back seat, give the ball to 'Melo, and it has showed.

Not specifically about Lin, but about the Knicks. I find it difficult to believe that that team, with that personnel, is a 18-24 team in the East. They shouldn't be that bad - and the record with Melo in the lineup is really quite staggering.

I spoke with Jay Triano (we go to the same Starbucks - or used to up until a week ago) and he was convinced before Melo came back that it would be a problem, but it isn't Lin that's the problem.
