Murray State Basketball's Last Unbeaten School: The Murray State Racers are the last undefeated Division I men's team at 21-0, reached the highest ranking in school history at No. 9 and now have a rap anthem. They play in Murray, Ky., a town of 17,000 two hours' drive from the nearest major airport in Nashville, but have 25 consecutive winning seasons and could run the table to the tournament if they can beat St. Mary's. "If it's 8 o'clock Saturday night and Murray is playing at home and Kentucky is playing on TV, we're still getting 4,000 to 5,000 fans," said Bennie Purcell, a Murray State player in the 1950s. "Basketball is our identity."

Great story. I'm always happy when Murray State, WKU, N. Iowa, and other schools like them are in the tournament. Even happier when they get through the first weekend.
I'm amazed that the school has been so adept at landing capable coaches over the years. They've had much better continuity in that area than a lot of bright lights programs.
