If the ball doesn't strike the batter and isn't touched by a player before it goes fair, it should be considered a fair ball.
I can't find any reference to the batters' box being designated any different than any other part of the foul ball area with regards to a batted ball.

Center Olin Kreutz has informed the New Orleans Saints that he is leaving the team after losing his passion for football. Leaving $1M+ on the table, got to respect his integrity.

Is a ball that hits foul near the batter's box and lands fair in the field of play fair? I meant to ask this yesterday about the Berkman hit in game 1.
