Why Ernie Johnson's Missing the Playoffs: TBS sports announcer Ernie Johnson, Jr., is missing the baseball playoffs to be at the bedside of his hospitalized son. Michael Johnson, 24, is afflicted with muscular dystrophy and currently battling pneumonia. He was adopted from a Romanian orphanage in 1991. Ernie Johnson said, "My wife's a gem and called from Bucharest and said, 'I saw a child today, and he's so much more than we can handle. But I can't go through the rest of my life wondering whatever happened to that kid.'"
Good for him for recognizing remembering what's important in life.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, I really don't think so. It looks like you're doing just fine here. We now know that 'that kid' wound up in a loving, caring family. My prayers are with you.

That's one lucky kid. That's real courage. Would I be so generous?

Wow. I already liked the guy, but just wow. Hope I can be that brave some day.
