This is sad: Tyson Tomko, a former WWE wrestler I've seen around town a few times, has been charged with robbery of oxycodone from a St. Augustine drug store.

Back in 2006, when I blogged about seeing this giant scary dude at Chick-fil-a -- but not knowing who he was -- I got comments from him, his mother and cousin.

Everybody I've talked to who met the guy speaks highly of him.

I thought Moneyball was pretty good, Millenball would have left me in tears however.

Happened to be in the truck today when some guy called one of the sports talk radio programs in Boston, claiming he owned all of the Popeye's Chicken stores in the Boston area. He said he has been getting death threats since all the flap about Red Sox pitchers' eating habits has surfaced. I don't know if the guy is for real, but stuff like this would not surprise me where the Red Sox are concerned.

The play-off draw for the European Championships has been made :

Ireland v Estonia
Turkey v Croatia
Czechs v Montenegro
Portugal v Bosnia

Also Rooney's ban for his hilarious and ludicrous red card on Friday has been confirmed as three games, meaning he will miss all of England's group games next year.

If Fab drops him and Portugal fail to beat Bosnia then two of the most annoying gentlemen in football will be missing, which would be terrible.

Does anyone else chuckle thinking about Rooney's "personal" letter to UEFA? I can imagine the following scrawled in crayon on the back of a kids menu from whatever the UK equivalent of Denny's is:

Deer Yoo-Ay-Fah:

I am sorry about the red card for which I was received as a result of a clumzy challenge against Monteynegger. I will admittance to having sum angre problems in the past, butt was harshly sent off for what i believe was reality just a sign of respekt and playful komaraidery for a fello competitioner. Fabeeoh seys I can haz back my spot if I show contritenessity and I am trying to show youse this with my letter. Please find it in yur harts to keep my ban at one game. I will never ever ever ever ever ever do it against.

Best wishus (to your missus!),
Wayne Rooney
