I guess it's a good time to be a Detroit sports fan:

Tigers are back in their playoff series.
The Lions are 5-0 to start their season.
The Red Wings have started their season at 2-0.

And the Pistons are guaranteed not to lose any games in the first two weeks of their season!

So, grum, how many times does Pujols get walked tonight?

I can answer that: 10.

I've been using this same joke but with the Bucks instead of the Pistons.

And a tough time to be a Philly sports fan.

At least Lions fans didn't go through the years of hell holding out high expectations because their club had stocked up on high priced talent.

The Lions would like to send a little message to Jerry Jones, who has always been especially smitten with receivers:

Keep acquiring wideouts. You'll eventually get it right.

Seriously, tron7, Milwaukee/Wisconsin is living pretty large as well, with two undefeated football teams (Packers and Badgers) and an NLCS team.

Is the Lions-Niners winner Sunday the #2 seed in the NFC? Hard to imagine a more surprising (NFL related) question being asked two months ago.

Certainly would come down to those two and the Saints, the way things are going (incidentally, Saints have the Lions at home in Week 13). I see the Saints finishing no worse than 11-5 (which would just require them to go 7-4 from here on out), but then again it's hard to find 5 losses on the remaining Lions or 49ers schedules, although I think each of those three teams will drop a game or two that everyone has penciled in now as a win.

Currently the Lions are the #1 seed, so.... only if the Lions lose

Can a wild card team get a first round bye?

Byes go to top two seeds, and division winners are seeded higher than wild cards regardless of record.
