Rangers Slam Tigers 7-3 in Game 2: Texas Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz hit the first walk-off grand slam in postseason history, giving the Rangers a 7-3, 11-inning victory over the Detroit Tigers. The Rangers lead the series 2-0 as it heads to Detroit tomorrow.
The walk-off grand-slam thing is a technicality, as Robin Ventura hit a bases-loaded walk-off home run, but his team mates mobbed him before he could get to 2nd base and it was ruled a 1-run single.

Yeah, after that ninth inning when they couldn't push a run across with bases loaded and no outs, I think a nice fly ball to plate one would have been just as appreciated.

There was a weird moment when Miguel Cabrera advanced from second to home after Victor Martinez was hit by a pitch. Martinez, catcher Mike Napoli and pitcher Derek Holland all acted like it was a dead ball. The home plate ump didn't appear to make that call, so Cabrera astutely kept running.

Cabrera, Martinez, Jackson, and Avila have all looked lost at the plate. The Tigers have been able to put runners on base against the Rangers' pitching, but they have failed to convert numerous times.
Unless they start clicking the Tigers don't have a chance.

Goddamnit, Nelson Cruz used to be a Brewer. Could use him tonight.
