Browns Fan Kicked Out for Excessive Standing: A Cleveland Browns fan with season tickets in the Dawg Pound section was kicked out of last Sunday's victory over the Miami Dolphins for standing up too much. Dan Stipe, 35, said he was warned and then removed during the third quarter. He's filed a complaint and wants a meeting with team president Mike Holmgren. "My mom always taught me to stand up for what I believe in," he said. (Later in the game, another fan was dragged off for standing in the end zone celebrating the go-ahead touchdown with players.)

"We're at a football game, there's no reason we should sit down if we don't want to,"

Good lord, he is clueless. I guess it matters not one little bit that the people behind him are forced to stand for every single play because he refuses to sit at all.

Pun intended?

I don't use the word hero very often, but you are the greatest hero in American history. More seriously, though, if The Man is going to keep the Dawg Pound from standing to support their team, then how is attending the game supposed to be any better than watching it at home?

Blackout drunk: no problem, the concessions are that way! Standing: here's the door, you bastard!

It always torques me when some bozo in front of me won't sit down when (essentially) everybody else in the entire stadium is sitting. There's a time to jump up and holler for sure, but you can't jump up if you're already standing. I always have the feeling these guys just want to be noticed. Mission accomplished.

If you want to sit, go to a theatre. If you want to kick people out for standing up, run a theatre.

Standing up is fine if it's situational. Doing it the entire time is a dick move.

I hope there is also a rule on the books about excessive screaming "WHOOOOO" unless something is happening that actually deserves a "WHOOOOO." That shit is annoying.

Shit like this is why I rarely attend pro football games. Too many drunk asses that have no consideration for anyone else.

The guy that stands the entire time...as is standing gives him a better view of that 3 yard run on 2nd and ten. The jerk with the, oh so cute, sign that he spent 15 hours on, that he's waving non-stop in some vain attempt to get on sportscenter.

The flip side is that woman behind me that gets upset every time I jump up to celebrate a score.

Many newer stadiums now have standing room for this guy, maybe that will help.

If he wants to stand the entire game, then why did he purchase a SEAT? The Brownies' stadium has ample railing areas where he could stand to his heart's content. There is nothing wrong with standing to celbrate a big play or score, or to join in some team chants, but doing it the entire time is rude to those behind him.

If he doesn't stand up, how will Shurmur know he's available to sub in when McCoy starts choking?
