I think anyone who pukes at that contest should be shot.

According to CapGeek.com, the Nashville Predators must add another $12.4million in salary for the 2011-12 season. This is how far below the salary floor they currently are at this time.

Shea Webber is about to get way over-paid in the next few days. Also look for Tomas Kaberle to be signed for too much money by Nashville, Islanders, Winnipeg, Phoenix, Colorado, Carolina, or (funny enough) Ottawa.

I have a sense of humour, but I can't find any in that comic. Is the last panel supposed to be funny?

It just seems like a mean-spirited swipe at Van Hellemond.
Did he step on the artist's foot or something?

As far as I read this morning on a couple of blogs, if his price drops significantly, a return to Toronto on a 2-3 year deal isn't out of the question either.

There seem to be differing opinions on what he's worth now, given the playoff issues he had, his age and his complete aversion to shooting the puck.

See he was voted as an All Star starter again, 2(+) thoughts:

1. Next year I'm going to start a campaign for Yao Ming as a write in at SS. 2A. I can hardly wait until the AL manager uses a pitcher to pinch hit for Jeter in his first plate appearance. or 2B. The NL manager plays all nine defenders within the base paths during Jeter's AB.

Carolina going after Kaberle? I'm not seeing any of this in my local gossip wires.

An American victory on July 4th.

I just threw in Carolina because they are below the salary floor: http://www.capgeek.com/charts_floor.php

They have to add another $3.3million to their payroll to meet the league minimum required, so Kaberle being signed by them for that amount would do the trick. I don't know who (if anyone) is pursuing Kaberle.

Carolina signs Kaberle. Boston trades for Carolina's Joe Corvo.

Wow. LOL. This is pretty funny. Yeah grum, whatever you do for a living, you're doing the wrong thing. You need to be one of them sports psychics that is all over the tee vee these days.

Now that I really think about it, I guess we traded Joe Corvo for Tomas Kaberle and a 4th round draft pick. Not bad.

Corvo's probably worth more than a 4th at the deadline; puck moving defenceman on an expiring contract and all. Boston likely comes out ahead on the picks simply by paying him for 6 months.

Haha.

Adding Kaberle and subtracting Corvo still leaves Carolina $1.2million below the salary floor. There is still another move coming.

/turns on spooky lighting
Looking into my crystal ball, I'm seeing Antti Miettinen or Nikolai Zherdev for $2.8million-$3.0million cap hit.
