NFL Lockout Leaves Undrafted Players in the Cold: The NFL lockout's reinstatement during the draft has hurt a group of athletes who've grown increasingly important: undrafted free agents. Last season ended with 140 undrafted players on NFL rosters, taking up spots freed by injuries. They can't be signed or contacted during the lockout. "The NFL secured its expedited hearing in the 8th Circuit Court for June 3," reports ESPN's John Clayton. "A decision from the three-judge panel could come sometime in late June or early July. But that timing effectively kills the offseason and really affects the undrafted class."

Saw a scroll across ESPN that some agents are saying that NFL teams are contacting them about undrafted free agents despite ban. Haven't seen or heard anything further though.
