Phil Hughes Put on DL with 'Dead Arm': New York Yankees starting pitcher Phil Hughes, who won 18 games for the team last season, has been placed on the disabled list after going 13.94 ERA and losing noticeable speed on his fastball. "The arm strength is not there," Hughes said Friday. "My arm feels dead."
Why? Dead arm is not uncommon- what's troubling is seeing it this early in the season.
