Gators Can't Keep Their Mouths Shut: On Sunday, two Florida Gators basketball players and a team manager were arrested on theft charges in St. Augustine, Fl. Players Erik Murphy and Cody Larson allegedly broke into a car outside a restaurant with manager Joshua Adel as lookout. Murphy and Adel were caught and put in the back of a squad car, where Murphy talked at length about coming up with cover stories -- not knowing they were being recorded. Larson, who had fled, called them up and they put him on speakerphone. At one point in the 33 minutes of audio obtained by the local media, Murphy asks Adel, "Have you ever gotten arrested before?" When Adel says no, Murphy replies, "Then we could get off." Adel's response: "There's no getting off. We're not in fucking Gainesville."

The manager must be the one who brings that trio's GPA average up to 0.85.
Wonder if the arresting officers were outside listening to a live feed of the conversation.

Great line. Although the 0.85 figure is probably too generous.

That's really awesome. I chuckled. I do feel for the manager a bit. He had some immediate, if temporary clarity, it seems.

The manager is gone in Gainesville no doubt, but he's only a Kelvin Sampson head coaching hire away from his next opportunity.

This crime happened in my town. Scarlett O'Hara's (the restaurant they left to allegedly break into the car) is in a well-trafficked tourist area.
One of the players was 6-foot-10! Even if they get away, how many nearly seven-foot tall people were in that area that night?
Criminal masterminds!
