Historic Baseball Images :
Photos taken by Leslie Jones between 1917 and 1956. Most of these revolve around the Boston baseball teams (Red Sox and Bees/Braves).

Most of these were taken long, long before my time, but it was nice to see Fenway in its more or less original configuration, including a shot of the near empty bleachers. As a young 'un, I was taken to Braves Field many times by my Dad or by my oldest sister. We always sat behind 1st base because it gave a really good view of the entire field. I've still never forgiven the Braves for leaving Boston.

Thanks for sharing, grum.

Love those pictures. Absolutely classic. Some of the Babe Ruth ones are great, like the one of him talking to the kids. What the hell happened to him in the photo where he was being carried off injured? Looks like he got shot! And the young Ted Williams photos are really something.
