Thoroughbred Charity Let Horses Starve to Death: The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, one of the world's largest racehorse charities, has failed repeatedly to pay for the upkeep of the 1,000 horses in its care, leaving some emaciated or dead from starvation. "They were making their administrative payroll this whole time, but the horses they were suffering," said Gayle England, the operator of an Oklahoma horse farm. "They need to be held accountable."

Recently read the response to this article on DRF.com (Daily Racing Form). Looks like they took some liberties with their reporting and misrepresented some of the facts (yeah, I know imagine that--let some facts get in the way of a good story). Read their story here (hopefully, I did the link right). This is an organization whose heart is in the right place but has a daunting task as a mission.

Countdown, to PETA sorry asses getting involved, 3...2...1... (and in involved I mean grabbing publicity not actually doing anything to help)

It's the way most charities work. Administrators and fundraisers get paid off the top; if there's anything left over, maybe it goes to the cause.
