Ref sues AP sportswriter over Tweet.
That was a crappy tweet. I can't believe the ref got fined because of what a reporter thinks he overheard. They need a better evaluation system.

So you're questioning the reliability of the reporter over an NBA official?

Well, yeah, he wasn't involved in the discussion, so he is just tweeting what he thinks he overheard. I don't think he verified with either of the participants that he got it right.

If a reporter thinks he heard something said during an NBA game on the court, why shouldn't he report it? The only reason to ask Rambis or Spooner for verification is if he doubted what he heard.

How much credibility is that reporter going to have if both the ref and Rambis say that is not what the ref said? I don't have much trust in people overhearing things correctly, especially in a middle of a noisy arena.

SVG most annoying in opinion of players. They didn't need to do a poll of fans to figure this out, they already knew that the answer would be the same.

Perhaps he should, but then perhaps he should also be held accountable if he is wrong in what he thought. If case goes on, this could be very interesting, since there is a third party (Rambis) involved as well as anyone else within earshot.

Regarding recent discussions, this 2010 column claims college athletes get to keep the excess from their monthly housing, food and books allowances, which puts some spending money in their hands if they handle it right.
