4 Auburn Players Charged with Armed Robbery: Four Auburn football players -- including starting safety Mike McNeil -- have been arrested on charges of armed robbery and dismissed from the team. Three males entered a home and stole personal property, police allege, and the four players were stopped afterwards in a car with the gun and stolen items.

Probably be suspended for two games. Wait, one is a starter? Make that one game. Wait, is he any good? Make that a half game.

Let's see, Armed Home Invasion or Possible Pro Football Career? I'll take Armed Home Invasion for 10, Alex. Stupid is as stupid does.

Can you imagine the thought process, or the lack thereof, that gets one to this.

To add to Shotput's line...Armed Home Invasion, Possible Football Career, guaranteed College Scholarship...I'll take Armed Home Invasion.

rcade, you might say that if we paid them the $5k they wouldn't do this, perhaps, but perhaps they'd have already blown through that $5k.

Sad footnote to their season.

Sad footnote to their entire lives. They apparently went into a house and robbed everyone in it of their valuables. I hope they're not sentenced to a prison in Crimson Tide territory.

Waitaminute, racade, where does it say they "went into a house and robbed everyone in it of their valuables"? I think it's possible, based on either article, that they may have gone to recover items they felt were stolen from them, but because they showed a gun, it's armed robbery. Either way it's dumb, dumb, dumb . . . but there may be more to this story than immediately meets the eye.

outonleave, that sounds exactly like the OJ case in Veags and where did that get him, unless laws are different in the two states.

Here: "They say McNeil, Goodwin and Kitchens went into the house and robbed the five people inside at gunpoint." If they robbed all five people, that doesn't make it sound like they were pulling an O.J.

Another story says the actual theft charge is a misdemeanor, so perhaps all five were not robbed.

They have kicked off Auburn's team, effective immediately.
