So tonight Los Lakers are playing in Miami against El Heat and the visiting team is wearing white while the home team wears their (away) black uniforms.
Does anyone know what is going on?

Forget about it, geekyguy, it's El Chinatown.

为什么你这么说呢?

You've never seen Chinatown?

That is a crime in and of itself.

Couldnt agree more. Great movie. Won a bunch of awards I think. The segual The Two Jakes wasnt bad either. Wasnt that Roman Pulanski.?

Yeah, I've seen it but not in years. It is a 37 year old movie.
Very clever.
Thanks.
So nobody knows?
The first game the Knicks played with Carmelo in MSG against the Bucks also had the teams wearing alternate uniforms - both teams wore road jerseys.
Interesting trend.

Knicks at Mavs last night had the visiting Knicks wearing their home whites.

The Mavs were wearing their alternate jersey. It said "Los Mavs." If the home team wears an alternate jersey, perhaps the away team just tries to contrast.

Why just Spanish? Why not French? I bet there's a team that would love to be known as Les Miserables.

Why are these alternate jerseys with a Spanish article before the team name not considered condescending?

posted by graymatters at 05:25 PM on March 11, 2011

That's what they are called in Spanish, so they are to show they appreciate their Spanish fans

BS, it's to sell jerseys.

posted by graymatters at 09:53 PM on March 11, 2011

Okay, opportunistic but not condescending.
