E.P.L seasons awards,: according to the Guardian. It's worth a look just for the comment on Wenger.

Very funny. Just a couple of issues though. The "hopeless bloke" is in a Carlsberg ad not a Carling ad. Also, how could you have an award for this season's top moaning managers and leave out the ginger whinger himself? Meggo should win that award by a country mile.

Yes, the Wenger comment is worth it on it's own!

The referees, you see, are the satanic servants of the Bin Ladenist faction of the freemasons who act as the goon squad for the Bilderburg Group who, following a plan originally dictated to the Elders of Zion by the Grey Venusians, are determined to gift the Championship to the space-lizards posing as Manchester United. Or Arsenal. My thoughts exactly.

Not trying to derail FB's thread, but not sure this deserves an FPP of it's own, and it's from the evil ESPN (as discussed amongst much towel-flipping). Anyway, an end of season review of the best EPL signings of the year.

In another attempt to derail this thread, the Turnip has resigned. I have mixed feelings about this.

I think O'Leary is still open to offers ...

Turnip? Well, i disagree with the best signings of the year... I only understood about 1/4 of that whole Guardian article...

Swedes 2 Turnips 1 A classic Sun headline after England lost while Taylor was manager.

Squealy, old chap, would you do me the small kindness of explaining, in detail, why this doesn't deserve an FPP on it's own?

Buddha...you are really having a hard time aren't you? Squealy is talking about his OWN submission to this thread. That IT doesn't deserve an FPP on its own...the ESPN article... Oh my...

Big Calm, I can assure you that most Blues fans are extremely depressed at your news.

Yeah, but just think how you'll celebrate when El Tel, or Wilko is appointed. Heavens preserve us and save us.

Taylor leaving is not good news. The rumour that his likely replacement will be David Platt, is however.

posted by squealy at 12:40 PM on May 14, 2003

Who the hell is David Platt?

posted by StarFucker at 01:37 PM on May 14, 2003

David Platt, ugly footballer: "... eventually signed for Aston Villa in 1988 for £200,000. Whilst at Villa, Platt broke into the England Squad, and his performances at Italia 90, ensured that clubs from across Europe were chasing his signature. He moved to Bari for £5.5 million. From Bari, Platt moved to Turin, Juventus and then Sampdoria. Platt returned to England in 1995, and signed for Arsenal, and was part of the double winning squad of 1997/1998. After retiring as a player, he turned to management with Sampdoria, but was not permitted to take up the role due to lack of coaching qualifications. On his return to England, he took the role of player manager at Nottingham Forrest for two seasons, before becoming Englands Under 21 coach."

Please, please, please, let it be Platt.

If I may join in the orgy of derailment that this thread has become, is wanking a sport? Er, possibly not safe for work I suppose, but it's only rude words.
