Transfer deadline day highlights so far: Liverpool bidding increasingly absurd amounts of money for Andy Carroll; Diego Forlan rumoured to be heading to Spurs; Freddy Adu to Caykur Rizespor (Turkish second division) on loan; Michael Bradley to Villa on loan; Fernando Torres still not in a helicopter.

It did look like it was a well-run event.

But that article kind of felt like when Canada tries to get America's attention about baseball/football.

"See? See? We know what we are doing!"

Well, Carolina had like 8 years to prepare, and their owner comes from a real hockey town, so...

Liverpool have confirmed the 22.7m capture of Uruguayan Luis Suarez and are still in conversation with Andy Carroll about his patently absurd 35m transfer from Newcastle, while Torres is hovering over London in his helicopter talking to Chelsea about 175,000 a week wages before he signs for the London club in a 50m deal.

rcade. Please can has foreign currency symbols.

Speaking of all-star games, wow was the NFL game boring. I LOVE NFL football, but I could barely watch 5 minutes of that game without changing the channel. I know they don't want to hurt people, but I need some D to enjoy the game.

Just saw the Woody Hayes incident for the first time as more than a highlight. Crazy.

Not to mention the NFC took a six touchdown lead to start the game. That certainly sucked some life out of it.

I commend you on your attempt to negate any of the good times I had this weekend.

Much closer to the truth.

That is crazy. How does Hayes stay in the game after punching that player? How do those chicken shit announcers completely avoid mentioning one word about what they just saw.

Wow.

NoMich, anything I can do to help... =D

tommy, Carolina was supposed to host the cancelled 2005 All-Star game, and was promised a future date...that's was I was going by in my 8 year estimation...

And cjets, in 1978 they didn't have 30 camera angles instantly at their fingertips to break down plays. The only replay they saw in the booth was the one from across the field, and you couldn't tell by that replay what Hayes was doing...

Looking at those punches on Youtube, I can't find a video of it now, but I saw something on SportsCenter tonight about Kevin Garnet hitting a player in the groin right as he released a 3 pointer from a few games ago. A blatant punch and he wasn't even suspended at all.

Meat Saber, you're trying to tell me they couldn't see what was going on? I don't buy it. I was watching the same feed from 1978 that they saw. It was clear that Hayes was involved. it was clear they he threw punches and I'm watching on my little you tube screen. They were live at the game.

They chose not to mention it.

And as far as the Garnett situation, that was an in-game situation. How do the officials not see a coach come off the sidelines and punch a player?

Then again given the NCAA's treatment of the Ohio State five this year, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

he wasn't even suspended at all.

Because the Celtics were playing the Lakers on Sunday afternoon in their next game.
