NFL Pick 'em, Conference Round: Hope posting this earlier will get more participation this week!

Just two games this weekend, Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears, and New York Jets at Pittsburgh Steelers. Similar scoring rules as last week, although with only two teams I'm going to up the point totals to keep things interesting.

AwayHomeKickoffSpreadOver/Under
Green Bay PackersChicago BearsSunday 3pm EST, FOXGreen Bay -3.543.5
New York JetsPittsburgh SteelersSunday, 6:30p EST, CBSPittsburgh -3.538.5

For each game, pick:

  • The winning team according to the spread (1)
  • The over/under (1)
  • The point differential (2)
  • In which minute the first score will occur (i.e., "2 minutes into the 1st quarter" means between 2 minutes and 3 minutes into the game) (1)
  • How the last score of the game will occur (Basically, either FG or TD unless you're feeling ballsy enough to say "two-point conversion" or the like) (1)

For the weekend, pick (out of both games):

  • The team with the most rushing yards, and your guess as to their total (3)
  • The team with the most passing yards, and your guess as to that total (3)
  • Like last week, the team with the biggest rushing/passing differential, and your guess as to that number (3)

The pick 'em leader after two weeks has 11 points, but with a whopping 21 points on the table this week, even if you've not played before you might have a run of luck and catch up close enough for Superbowl weekend.

Tommy and bender: you missed the part of the pick about the minute in which the first score of each game occurs.

Thanks, hin.

Um, 7th minute, and 7th minute.

Hey, I was going to guess 7th and 7th, so I'll take the 4th minute of the Packers-Bears game, and the 8th minute of the Steelers-Jets game.

Or, to summarize:

Packers, under, 13, 4th minute of 1st quarter, TD
Jets, over, 2, 8th minute of 1st quarter, FG
Steelers, 156 rushing yards
Packers, 327 passing yards
Bears, 170 yards difference

Woo, that's me!

Dammit!

Packers, Over, 7, 5th minute of qtr 1, TD
Steelers, Under, 4, 10th minute of qtr 1, FG
Steelers, 174 Rushing yards
Packers, 343 passing yards
Packers, 220 yard difference

Yeah, crap, sorry for bailing last week. I had family in town and kind of ignored the internet.

AFC specific:
Jets vs. the spread
Under
2 point game
First score 12 minutes into the first quarter
Last score of the game comes off a field goal

NFC:
Pack vs. the spread
under
9 point game
First score comes two minutes into the second quarter
Last score: TD

Overall:
Most rushing yards: Yuck. This is tough. I guess Jets with 125
Most yards passing: Pittsburgh, 285
Biggest rush/pass differential: Chicago: 190

Btw, I realized as I was putting the scores into my spreadsheet just now that I failed to clarify one minor detail: the bonus picks are worth 3 points because it's 1 for the team, 1 for the total within the Margin of Error, and an additional 1 point if you're within 10 yards of the actual total (similar to getting the point differential exactly right as opposed to within the MoE)l. This was implied as I mentioned it in last week's writeup, but just wanted to make that clear.
