Webber done for the season.: Who's the favorite now?

I think until someone beats the Lakers, you have to condisder them the favorites, even with their current injury problem. Give me Shaq, Kobe, and 3 stiffs and I will take my chances in this mans NBA. I am going with my Pistions out of the east. They look tough and hungry after that horrible Orlando series. As long as Billups can recover from his ankle injury they should be ok.

I agree with Fluxcore. Lakers til they lose. I'd love to have counted them out when they went down 2-0, but I couldn't. They have some magical aura around them that thrives on giving people a chance to believe they can win and snatching it away from them, and until someone can prove mentally tough enough, I think the Lakers have to be the favourites. On a related note, Jack Nicholson is a fucking asshole. "This is the NBA, you can't tell me to sit down.'' May I remind you Mr. Nicholson that, while you do have an illustrious career as an actor, you are not a member of the NBA. You are a fan. Your ticket does not give you the right to go on the court. Any other wahzoo would have been kicked out for that. Ridiculous he think that this is acceptable behaviour.

Nets come out of the East again and this time take down a Lakers team depleted by seven game series against San Antonio and Sacramento. In my dreams, they do!

The Nets look impressive. I think that they'll come out of the East and give the West a run for their money. If they face the Lakers, it should be an interesting match up: Kidd will dominate at point guard. Martin will dominate at power forward. Kobe will dominate at shooting guard. Shaq will dominate at center. So what's the better combination? Point guard/power forward or shooting guard/center? Also, who has the better supporting cast? Mutumbo has not been used much in the playoffs, but if they play the Lakers in the finals, he may have a significant role. I'm rooting for a Lakers-Nets final.

The University of Michigan is still paying for the cash the Webber and friends took during their time in blue. It is weird how the program suffers [fines, ban on postseason, ban on scholarships], while the players who took the money are not penalized at all.
