Frank Deford not a big fan of middle-school football trickery.

I think what I like about this is that Deford doesn't seem to realize he doesn't need to describe the play, as you can just link to the YouTube video (as the SI staff did).

That does make him look like a dinosaur. It's also a completely phoned-in commentary that adds nothing to a pretty interesting debate.

The kid who ran it has said "I thought it was nonsense" and said it was cheating to do it. I think he has it right.

I don't see why the refs couldn't just flag the coach -- who was in on the ruse, yelling at the kid to move the ball five yards forward -- for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Didnt want you folks to miss the great Gary Roberts song from DVE(Pittsburgh radio) or these recycled jokes Figured since he was the main topic of yesterdays huddle, why not.

Bill Parcells is already making noise about how he wants another opportunity to run an NFL team.

We had a disagreement here recently regarding whether Parcells left Dallas because of something Jerry Jones did. I think stories like the above link show that he's become a team exec who can't work in one place for long without getting restless.

Has Miami really improved though? And whatever he may have done in Dallas didn't seem to stick. Is he really the cure for what ails an NFL franchise?

He's a great quick fix. But not a long term solution.

True, in this medium, but I heard this piece last week on Morning Edition on NPR. I had seen the video and didn't need the explanation, but if I hadn't, his recap would have been useful.
