NFL Sideline Official Hospitalized After Player Collision: A member of the chain crew was clobbered by a player during a punt in the New Orleans Saints-Cleveland Browns game Sunday. Al Nastasi Jr. is conscious and in stable condition at a New Orleans hospital, his son said video). Adding insult to injury, Courtney Roby, the Saints player who accidentally ran into Nastasi after being blocked out of bounds, was flagged 15 yards on the play for not trying to get back on the field.
I am glad to see that the guy is recovering from the collision. Just this past weekend I was on the sidelines for the UMass/UNH game at Gillette Stadium taking pics and almost had a player run into me so I know that the sidelines are a dangerous place. In my case I was standing right behind the chain gang taking pictures when a UNH receiver ran an out pattern and came right at us. I took a couple of steps back and the receiver stopped pretty much right where I had been standing at the start of the play. Sadly I had a long range lens on the camera so I couldn't get a good pic of the guy running right at me.

I realize this was a member of the chain crew, but there's so many people and so much activity on NFL sidelines, I'm amazed more people don't get very seriously injured. I can't remember the game I was watching but a guy got hit hard below the waste while on the sideline and went down really hard, and I was surprised he got up.
