Went to see the Tillman Story last night. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in sport, government cover-ups, media exaggeration and just all round good documentary film making. I suspect any aspect of Pat Tillman's story would have made for a decent documentary, but the whole thing put together - and with the more important factor that the film is as much about his family's search for answers and justice (it's the Tillman Story, not the Pat Tillman Story) - was really moving stuff.

MLB Trade Rumors currently is running a poll on who the model franchise is? I thought it was an interesting topic for discussion.
I can see why the Yankees are getting a little over 9% of the vote (as much as I hate it I will admit it has worked), but what exactly are the 2% that are voting for the Mets thinking? Why so little love for the Padres?
I also think that the 13 people who have voted for the Orioles (as of 4pm) should really have their heads examined, same goes for the 15 who voted for the Royals. I also think there must be something wrong with the voting system since it appears to have let members of the Pirates management team vote 37 times!!

Nice job Nationals, more people think the Pirates are doing a good job.

The management didn't vote, all the players did. Management said they had to or else they wouldn't get their next check.

Worthwhile nugget of insight on postseason MLB play by Mike Schmidt.
