This day in history: Thirty-three years ago, Reggie Jackson cemented his moniker "Mr. October" by hitting 3 consecutive home runs in game 6 of the World Series, propelling the New York Yankees to the series victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Crazy trivia stolen from another site:

There were twelve men in uniform (players, managers, coaches) who were or would be managers for baseball teams at some point in their careers, that played/coached in that game.
(and one who was on the roster but sat on the bench that day)

Those men were (with total wins as a manager):

Bobby Cox 2504 (coach)
Lou Piniella 1835 (player)
Tommy Lasorda 1599 (manager)
Dusty Baker 1405 (player)
Billy Martin 1253 (manager)
Johnny Oates 797 (player) (on the bench)
Preston Gomez 507 (coach)
Yogi Berra 484 (coach)
Dick Howser - 346 (coach)
Willie Randolph 302 (player)
Bill Russell 173 (player)
Davey Lopes 144 (player)
Bucky Dent 36 (player)
