Is that the Wisniewski gesture to Avery?
(I can't view videos at work.)
If so, it's definitely an odd one.
And Avery has a point: if he did it, he'd be crushed by the NHL/media.
The fun part was watching which sports stations would show the gesture.
In Canada, it was blurred out by TSN and SportsNet. The Score ran the clip with no editing.

Avery is a dick, and from the video it would appear Wisniewski has experience with dicks.

Why does every gesture in the NHL involve the throat?

You know, in light of all of the recent outcry against homophobic bullying, SPORT is the first arena that could be brought into check. I think someone posted the "Why are You Gay" clips from Yankees games the other day. This clip just adds to the list of the countless ways this type of behaviour goes unchecked. IMHO, time to get current and do away with this kind of stuff.

Phenominal finish by Nikki Hamblin in the Commonwealth Games 800m, backing on from her silver in the 1500m.

Bugger. That now takes New Zealand above Samoa on the medals tally.

But we still lag behind Australia on the "competitors arseholed out of the games for being unable to control themselves" stakes, alas.
Would like to know which country's ahead on the "clogging drains with used condoms" competition.

I dunno, but I can guess which country is probably running second.

I've never seen a pro athlete do that gesture to an opponent before.
